What is the MAGNIFICATION feature?
The MAGNIFICATION feature, introduced with LF SUP 3.0, sets a persistent magnification for each of the four monitoring outputs paths (EVF and MON OUT 1, 2 and 3), so the intended target image can be as big as desired on EVF and monitors. This is because some combinations of frameline and sensor mode can lead to a relativelysmall target image on the viewfinder and/or MON OUT. The MAGNIFICATION values can be set from 100% to 200% for each monitoring path individually or they can be globally overridden with the MASTER MAGNIFICATION setting. From LF SUP 4.0 on, the camera stores separate MAGNIFICATION values for EVF, MON OUT 1, 2 and 3 for each sensor mode. From LF SUP 4.3 on, if more image area is recorded than is visible, it will be indicated by an icon in the status overlay for the respective output. This used to be indicated by an orange line/outline, but many customers have found that distracting. The orange outline to indicate ZOOM remains as it was before. Please note that the MAGNIFICATION feature works for 1.5G HD MON OUT, not for 6G UHD MON OUT.
