In 2017 the Cyc / Flood lampheads have been discontinued.
The product line of Cyc / Flood lampheads include the ARRI Flood 1250 and the ARRI Cyc 1250.
Back then this product lines have been designed for TV studios and when large areas had to be lit. Due to the development and the advantages of the LED technology these lampheads are barely used in the market anymore.
Both lamphead types are made of a die cast aluminium housing, an easy-changeable reflector and mesh-less double protection glasses that prolong the life of color filters.
The difference between the ARRI Flood 1250 and the ARRI Cyc 1250 lies in the reflector design. Whereas the Flood reflector produces a symmetrical, horizontal light the Cyc reflector is unevenly shaped in order to produce a uniform intensity light field over any length of a surface. Therefore, it was mostly used for green screens or lighting a translight or backdrop or even a cyclorama. The Cyc 1250 has been produced as a single, a double, a 4-bank and a 4-cube version in manual or as a pole operated version.
The active portfolio of ARRIs softlights can be found under: LED
Furthermore, ARRI offers the SkyBender as an accessory for the LED SkyPanel in order to evenly light green screens, translights, backdrops or even cycloramas.
