Sonja Prosenc is best known for her awarded and critically acclaimed arthouse dramas "The Tree" and "History of Love," both Official Oscar Entries in 2016 and 2020, respectively. Studies of her films have appeared in academic publications in both Europe and the USA, most recently in the publishing house Berghahn Books, New York, and Oxford. Her debut film, "The Tree" (2014), with a screening in early April, became part of Anthology Film Archives in New York on the occasion of the book's release. She has also successfully tried her hand in the comedy genre with her short film "Paradise" (2019), which won the National Best Short Film Award, and in the mystery thriller genre with the TV series "Trigrad," first presented at Series Mania in France and receiving multiple nominations at the Sarajevo Film Festival 2023. Sonja is recognized as one of the four directors of the future at Slamdance, a European female director to watch at Cineuropa, and selected for the Eurimages Gold Album.

Cinematographer: Mitja Ličen

In terms of the talent behind the camera, Prosenc has once again chosen her close collaborator Mitja Ličen as her cinematographer. His recent work includes "Small Body" (Piccolo Corpo by Laura Samani), which premiered in Cannes and received the European Film Academy Discovery Award in 2022. He has been a member of the Slovenian Cinematographers Guild since 2015 and a recipient of the Guild's awards in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, along with other international and national film awards. Besides dramas, Mitja’s filmography also includes domestic commercial hits and a short stop-motion animation "Orange is the New Black" for Netflix. He also holds credits in awarded films as a co-writer ("The Tree," 2014) and as a co-director ("Paradise," 2019).
