A NORMAL LIFE shows the personal everyday life of four Bosnian women who were forced to flee their home country due to the consequences of the Yugoslav Wars and have been working as cleaning women in Vienna ever since. We get personal insights into their lives, their work, their urge to build a new life and their personal way of overcoming trauma.
Born on 24 January 1989 in Vienna. Shortly after her studies in Media Technology at the Fachhochschule St.Pölten, she worked for various film projects and documentaries. In 2019 she studied Analog Film at the Friedl Kubelka School for Independent Film and is now mainly working as a filmmaker and video producer.
Her work is focused on stories about humanity, migration and intercultural exchange. Broadening horizons, challenging social norms and questioning mantras are her main goals.
Mario Ilić, a Bosnian-born photographer and cinematographer now based in Vienna, began his journey into the world of cinematography at the Sarajevo Film Festival's Teen Arena in 2013 and shortly after earning him recognition as one of the youngest cinematographers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mario pursued his passion by studying Applied Photography and Time-Based Media at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, graduating in 2019. Since then, he has specialized in music videos and documentary filmmaking across Europe and Asia. One of his recent achievements as Director of Photography is the short film 'Jan,' which premiered on HBO Max Adria in March 2024.
