LUT Generator

Create LUTs (from/to LogC3 only!) for on set or postproduction

Generally speaking, Look-Up Tables (LUTs) are used to manipulate image data. A LUT transforms a digital signal to adjust the sensitivity and gamma, and provide a color correct monitoring input.

Nowadays, on-set color correction is not a novelty anymore, nevertheless look-up tables are still needed to convert ARRI’s Log C to a viewable format (e. g. Rec 2020 or Rec 709) or an otherwise needed format (conversion to linear space for VFX).

Our LUT Generator can create the LUT you need!

Choose “Source > Conversion > Destination Format  > LUT File Format”.

Please note LUT Generator does NOT support LogC4.
You can download our current 3D LUT Package for LogC4 here.

Please note:
If you are familiar with our old LUT Generator: “ALEXA Classic 709” is the well-known K1S1 LUT.

For HDR you can set the Peak White Point: 1000, 2000 or 4000 nits. The 3D LUTs are based on different tone-mapping curves depending on the maximum luminance.

When switching both monitor and camera from an 1000 PQ LUT to the respective 1000 HLG LUT, the displayed image should look identical.

We provide 3D LUTs that render diffuse white towards an approximate luminance of 100 or 200 cd/m2. The 3D LUTs rendering diffuse white towards 200 cd/m2 are compatible with the BBC recommendations for creating HLG-compatible HDR signals.
