This new accessory gives a second life to already owned equipment. The Orbiter’s built-in reflector and collimator boost older equipment’s efficiency. Furthermore, Orbiter’s high power and output, along with its outstanding optical performance, homogeneous field, and clean projection raises the value of third-party equipment. A manageable investment that will have a big impact on additional versatility.
Or you can also have a look at the Orbiter Projection Optics which are truly second to none, outperforming all competitor projection optics and dedicated profile fixtures. And while the Orbiter Docking Ring allows third-party optics that customers may already own to be used on the Orbiter, such combinations can only ever be as good as those third-party optics.
The Orbiter Docking Ring is a great possibility for rentals to provide even more diversity to their customers. Also, theatres, productions, photographers and many more users can experience a state-of-the-art light engine, while benefiting from this innovation as they can now use the tunable LED fixture with a wide range of already owned optics in addition to ARRI optics.
Any third-party Projection optic, Fresnel and Cyc-optic with the size between ⌀134 mm / 5.3 in and ⌀ 161,35 mm / 6.3 in and the max. weight of 7,9 kg / 17,4 lbs. can be applied to the Orbiter Docking Ring. The user manual contains a drawing of the adapter mount and further information.

No, there is no need to use the Orbiter Docking Ring when applying other ARRI optics. They can be attached directly to the fixture due to Orbiter’s Quick Lighting Mount (QLM).
The Orbiter Docking Ring will be available in black only, however it can be attached to any Orbiter color version.
The Docking Ring requires minimum LiOS Version 1.4 to be installed.
The Orbiter Docking Ring is not a standardized Bowen Mount.
The Orbiter Docking Ring mounts effortlessly onto the Quick Lighting Mount (QLM) of every Orbiter. The Docking Ring is automatically recognized by the luminaire and adjusts the light output for ultimate performance. Attaching third-party optics can also be done simply and swiftly without any tools required. The operation of third-party optics is safe due to the built-in automatic and low-noise cooling fan.
Yes, it is mandatory to switch off the Orbiter before mounting the Docking Ring with the third-party optic.
