The ARRI Orbiter sets a new bar in high-end, professional LED light sources. It is awarded by the TIPA - Technical Image Press Association and both recognizes and honors industry companies and their products and serves as an important industry benchmark.

“For Orbiter, with its 6-color light engine, we completely revised the colorimetry and calibration while incorporating many improvements. Orbiter masters the wide range of color modes available in SkyPanel, however, Orbiter features 6 colors and, therefore, can execute even better color rendering, even at extremely low color temperatures. We also gave Orbiter extended calibration data, which additionally prepares it for completely new future features.”

Teachers and students from the lighting and camera department had the chance to get a sneak peek at Orbiter and to learn more about its many features.

“As a director, reducing the set-up time between shots is very important to me because it allows more time for shooting. That’s what was great about working with ARRI’s new light – Orbiter. The new features made it an all-around more efficient tool. I noticed that as the crew became more comfortable using it, the turnaround time from shot to shot was reduced. Instead of switching lights across the room for new coverage, all they had to do was switch optics. Time is so valuable on set and for me it was amazing what we were able to accomplish with Orbiter.”
